Our first full week on LBI is finished, so we celebrated by going out for a seafood luncheon and a long bike ride.
Beth and I thought it important to celebrate because this was not an easy week for us. On the contrary, it was full of some discipline issues at camp and a rewrite for one of our clients for whom we are writing a custom song.
Everything turned out well in the end, but there were moments along the way where we felt fear, anger, confusion as well as joy and compassion. in other words, it was a full experience and we were present to it.
The staff at LBIF is absolutely amazing. AND, as always, Beth and I are happiest when we are in an environment that’s full of kindness and laughter. Such is the Long Beach Island Foundation.
Accordingly, I’m sending a special shout out to our friend, Marcy Smith, for introducing us to this place last year. It’s likely to be a tradition and certainly we have Marcy to thank for setting us up with her childhood friend, Daniella, who runs the place.
