The months of July and August are coming and thus begins our annual summer travel season.
This year, we decided to spend July at an RV campground near Wurtsboro, New York – a great little town with one of the world’s worst names. Wurtsboro – it sounds like some combination of warts and liverwurst.
In spite of its inelegant name, the town has a kitschy hippy flair and one of the best vegan restaurants in the state (The Red Dot). The campground has a big pool, a workout room and a lot of friendly people.
We’re also going to be close to the Shawagunk Ridge Trail, so if we get some good weather – we’ll be outdoors a lot hiking in one of the most beautiful parts of the state.

Come August, we relocate to Long Beach Island (LBI) in New Jersey for our third season at an arts and nature summer camp. At the end of the month, we’re planning on a week at Hither Hills State Park in Montauk, NY. Ocean beaches here we come!
Mixed in with the travels will be summer children’s concerts and online yoga classes of course. Still, the vast majority of our time will be spent enjoying the summer. After a busy school year, it sounds like a welcome break to recharge and reconnect.
