It’s a truly beautiful Spring day in the northeastern USA. After a brutal winter when the temperature regularly dipped into single digits, when we couldn’t see green for months – the sky is blue, the robins and bunnies are every where as are the folks walking through town clad in shorts and sandals. Hooray!
It has been awhile, dear readers, since we have connected. My usual mode of composing on my phone has been hampered by an inability to get photos to post, one of my favorite parts of these letters. My Romanian tech guru, Alex, is stumped and I allowed this to lead me into an aggravated case of blogitis. Please forgive me.
Today, Beth and I are both tired, mentally and physically, after a week filled with daily performances. I suppose we have become accustomed to leading workshops (which require differerent muscles) and unused to the harder lift required to drive, set up equipment and apply one’s energy to movin and groovin with an audience. Some might say, YOU’RE OLDER, and they’d be right. But we’re also just out of practice.
By the end of the week, we had worked out most of the bugs that only we’d notice and I felt a bit of the old flow moving through my mind and body. Whether you’re Beth & Scott or Mick & Keith, it takes a few days to “Start Me Up.”
(Please imagine a photo of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards here.)
Life is good. We are finishing up another school year filled with positive memories of songs well written, music videos enjoyed and happy clients. Apparently, we can get “Satisfaction” if we try and try.
What I can’t seem to get is a fully clean bill of health. My frozen shoulder is 75% healed, but I am still experiencing either sciatica or some sort of trauma to muscles or ligaments in my right leg. So far, no amount of chiropractic care, yoga or massage has done the trick. The painI
Is fairly excruciating and it’s worst when I’m driving. Of course, that worries us because of our upcoming travel plans that require approximately 6000 miles of driving between July 1 and October 18.
So, for those of you with some Higher Power connections, please put in a good word for me. I’d much rather be on the toad than on my back!
(Imagine a photo here of us waving from our truck crossing the USA.)
