Keuka Lake 2 (Letchworth St. Park)

After a gratifying meeting about a new venue for The John Lennon Project, we got in the truck to visit Letchworth State Park. Our buddy Joe R. recommended it highly and that’s good enough for me! We had an enjoyable day checking out the gorge and we put about 5 miles on our shoes. (Yes, I’m feeling it.)

Speaking of advice, we have consistently followed the advice of friends when it comes to what to see in a given area and, fortunately, we’ve never been disappointed. I am not inclined to look locations up on Google and compare Place A to Places B through G. This is not my jam. When I was a student, my least favorite part about a research paper was (wait for it) the research.

One of my favorite parts about Letchworth is watching the birds of prey circle the gorge. They make huge circles and were unafraid to pass within 10 feet of the overlook where we were sitting with our lunch. I know for a fact that one of those birds seriously considered my salad and then opted for something with more protein (lucky me).

Bradley has this huge cone on his head, so moving up stone steps and around trees was a bit of a chore for both of us. Dogs have wonderful proprioception but not so much while wearing these ungainly devices. The poor guy bumped into his share of stuff, but he never once gave up or looked at me in disgust.

Speaking of big heads, allow me to show you my noggin’ in relation to one of the waterfalls.

Letchworth is great. We performed today at Sesame-Rockwood camp and we remembered seeing you perform there and then going out to lunch together. Sounds like you’re having fun!
